BIG HUGS

hello my friends
i thought i was going to have plenty of time to be around and craft more but sadly it hasn't being the case.
i do not always feel good and when i do i have been trying to play catch up with the house, garden and life.
it is always something with me, but hey, i am alive!

after doing some errands today and taking Lulu for a well needed walk i started making a card. just a simple card because if i get too picky i wasn't going to finish it today, lol.

Big Hugs
4.25" x 5.5"
the background papers were scraps i have been organizing again, lol.
did i mention i re-organized my room again? ...it is a never ending chore. wink-wink

i made the card front but i was not sure about what i wanted to use to embellish it.

while looking out the window i saw our with hazel tree we just planted last week and thinking i can't wait until i see the flowers next year. it then hit me, lol. since i have the fringe scissors from martha, i decided my embellishment was going to be a witch hazel flower---flowerdisco's style that is, hehe. the strips were going to be thin and messy---just like the witch hazel one. i glue the strips one by one on top of a small round scallop. i trimmed off some ends, inked them -of course, and attached that beautiful chipboard circle i had for a while and had forgotten to open the box. the colors matched so well to the already made card front. don;t you love it? i do---i love it a lot
.
BTW---THIS IS HOW THEY LOOK LIKE

a my pink stamper "Big Hugs" stamp, and voila...what a pretty card in about 30 minutes.
(not counting the deck sweeping-lol)

enjoy!

and i hopefully i finish my son's room this coming week and have it ready for when he comes for thanksgiving break.
i still have some plants to plant before the ground freezes and Lulu needs a bath. that is at least half a day fluffing and fluffing---the never stopping shedding of pugs, lol.
well, love you all!
and even i haven't been around much i have seen a lot of you are doing great and have been doing very well with your blogs. i am so happy for you all.

BITTEN BY THE BUG 2 BLOG HOP

WELCOME
to my little scraphut and welcome to our monthly

our challenge this week is the wheelbarrow from the Walk in my Garden cartridge.
You will find this image on page #107 and it is image #26 on the overlay.

Hello
5"x5"
square card
here is my cute wheelbarrow. i never used this cut and/or feature before. the feature is the "card" one but all you get is the front of the card. at least, that is what i got.  i made a base for it.

i hid the flowers centers with the gypsy hide contour because being so small i was just going to rip the thin paper i used. i added the tiny rhinestones instead. i can still tell they are flowers, :).
i messed up at the end while stamping hello. i decided to use embossing powder to hide it but, i couldn't set the powder right. you see? i already had the transparency attached on the window. it was warping on me...:(
as you can see i was not having a good day, lol
btw, the hello stamp is from my pink stamper and you can purchase the whole set HERE.
it is called spectacular sayings.
i got myself a pair of martha stewart fringe scissors ;Dand i used them today for first time. i made the grass where the little punched birdie stands still. loved using this scissors.

this tree is from hoot n' holler, image #11 on the overlay. i cut this tree at three inches but it comes out a bit taller because of the branches. the pretty butterflies are from another paper punch. i like to have paper punches with small images because they are easier than trying to cut them w/the cricut sometimes and, i can use tiny scraps of paper too. :D
if you take a closer look to the tree trunk you will see i stamped for a more realistic look.

and you can see i curled the leaves too.

this is my base for the front card. it is another 5"x5"piece of white cardstock which i scored at 1/2 inch and glued it to the front.

this is how it looks when opened. the back is the one that bends, not the front.

here is the completed card.
i want  to mention that the transparency used on the window is actually a clear plastic from the dollar stamps package ;p.

hope you like my card...this one is a first for me as i mentioned before.

i have a small giveaway and i will use random.org to choose for me.
you will have three days to claim your prize.
***the small print says you must participate in this BBTB challenge to be able to add your name for my giveaway.

now, it is time to keep hoping and i am listing the entire hop list in case you are a bit lost. you can start wherever you want but you might want to stop at all the blogs. :)

YOU'RE ONE OF A KIND

 You're One of a Kind
5.5" x 4"
i have a butterfly bush i purchased 2-3 years ago from a home improvement center. it was on the clearance table for 50 cents. the poor thing looked very, very bad. i said to myself i had nothing to loose and saw it as a challenge to try to bring it back to life. well, it did that and more and it really does attracts many butterflies. this butterfly bush brings so much happiness to my life. i get to enjoy all kind of butterflies and each one is
"One of a Kind!
I knew Robyn aka My Pink Stamper had come out with a set of clear stamps that was the perfect one for my card. I found it one of the May 2011 releases and it is called:

i used the cricut lite Live Simply for the butterfly. it is image#16 on the keypad overlay and i used all the layers. The size of the butterfly is 3" high.

the tag for the sentiment is from Ashlyn's Alphabet, image#29 on the overlay and measures 2.6"by 1".

i have been working with these box of patterned papers i have in my stash and i do not remember the manufacturer. But, they are really good looking papers. I will dare to say they are from K&CO.

to the inside of the card i just added a strip of paper i had leftover from the front of the card. i might add to it.

well, thanks for stopping by and know soon i will be able to visit your blogs.
Love you all!

MPS MAY DESIGN TEAM PROJECT

time goes fast when having fun!
it is time for another MPS design team project
this coming month is Father's Day and the team has some awesome projects
to get your creativity floating...wink :)...
using some of my pink stamper latest releases.
I am using the "spectacular sayings" set for my card.
Dad, you're one of a kind!
4.25" x 5.5"

i used "pack your bags" cricut cartridge for the family. this image was cut at 4.25 using all its layers.

DAD, is from don juan and "you're one of a kind" from "spectacular sayings", one of my pink stamper's latest releases.

i stamped the eyes, noses and eyebrows with a stamp from my stash. i colored in the cheeks with chalk.

the sun was also stamped.

i think this one turned out so cute and i bet my team mates projects are even better. this is a very talented group my pink stamper has in her design team. so hurry if you haven't been there yet, for tons of inspiration.

love you all!

Daily Life: my son made it to the top 20 of his class with high honors all through his school life. he was elected student of the year and he received various awards. saturday was his prom night and his grad will be the 9th. we are so happy for him and i wanted to tell the world about it. i also would like you to join me in wishing him the best in all his future endeavors. it is a tough journey but with God blessings on his side, he can do it.
my husband diabetes still high: almost 300 but he did go to our family doctor and all his diabetes meds were increased. he needs to go back in three weeks and then in july he will go to an endocrinologist.
i am doing "ok" and keep going--- :)
i also want to take the time to thank God for keeping him safe and praise him in all his glory. Amen!

WITH SYMPATHY CARD

hello to all
:)

i am back but still not settled yet. i do apologize for not being around but you must know family will always come first, especially here at my household. plus, i have been in so much pain from trying to do the extra bit--  :(

anyhow, i had to work on something before i go nuts, lol and i made this sympathy card and i also made a super easy and pretty (i believe) gift card holder i needed.
i then had to buy one because i forgot it at home--grr!

first,
With Sympathy
 4.25" x 5.5"
purple is a very hard color to photograph especially if you do not have good lighting. a friend told me she photographs hers with low lighting but it did not work for me. i googled it and it says to use the "white balance" in your camera. this is what i used to avoid the bluish color i always get. it is not perfect but is better. i still have to work on it. i have a cannon ps s2. it is an old camera but it has been very good to me except with the "color purple", lol.

the image is from cindy loo cut at 4.25" high and all its layers.

the sentiment is from one of the latest releases of my pink stamper clear stamp set called spectacular sayings. i heat embossed it. i still have to work on my heat embossing too :P--- but this font is so pretty tough. ;p

i made this yellow crinkled ribbon out of a strip of yellow cardstock. it looks like fabric, right? :) and it does in real life too--hehe. loving it!!!!!
i did not have any yellow ribbon left so i decided to improvise. i wet it and crunched it and dried it with the heat tool, then i glue-gunned it on the back to keep the pleats. so easy a cave woman (me) can do it, lol.

the mini butterfly is a sticker from my stash.

---remember you can click on the pics for a larger view---

now, this is the gift card/money holder card. the other "super easy" project that i forgot at home. :) i told the bride i will mail it but do not expect more money--hehe--because the money went in the other one already, lol.

the inside is just the holder that i paper punched it.
the envelope i made from a 12x12 sheet of vellum using one of the envelopes from the wild card cart--for the adhesive i used a 1/8th wide scor-tape i have. it worked good. you still can see it through but it does not look bad.

well, hope you get some ideas with these projects.

and i hope to come back soon....in the meantime, know i still love you all and please forgive me for not visiting your blogs lately. i am hoping all will settle/come down after graduation and the move to college.

i am also dealing with my husband diabetes being totally out of control: 400+

no more pity party---i really hate it!!!!--but i feel you guys need to know why i am not around---i have a lot on my plate and because this stupid pain never goes away--it is really hard for me to even try to balance it all. i just can't.

see you later and

BIG HUGS to all----!!!!!!!
