Sister Corita Kent installation view, Neon Parc ©

Last night saw the opening for Sister Corita Kent (1918-1986), an exhibition of works from the incredible artist, activist and educator.

She was a Sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Los Angeles, later dedicating her life to art where 'she reflected her spirituality, her commitment to social justice, her hope for peace, and her delight in the world that takes place all around us.'

Beautifully bright screen-print posters of intricate text and design, produced over half a century ago. Looking great. Geoff Newton of Neon Parc has worked hard to bring this down to Melbourne, just in time to commemorate 25 years since her death.

What | Sister Corita Kent (1918-1986)

Where | Neon Parc gallery, Level 1, 53 Bourke St, Melbourne.

When | May 4- June 4.

Exitingly Third Drawer Down have also done a limited tea towel print for the occasion too.
