Trimapee 'Animalia'

Dangerous Goods | RMIT Student Series

4th year fashion grads from RMIT Jeanne Hendrey + Georgia Head held accompanying short film and animation mini for their current collection. Jeanne recruited Yianni Warnock for her accompanying short film 'Feelings Felt', shot on Super8. Filmed at Hanging Rock in Victoria, with Rhiannon King on the stills with her Hasselblaad.

Stunning photographs, see here.

Such a unique event, the short film was screened in a unique shipping container placed on Melbourne's Southbank along the river. Photos courtesy of Maxwell Finch.

Also probably one of the best shorts i've seen in a while.

BOO EASEL CARD FOR MADE BY MOMO TUESDAY CHALLENGE

Thanks to Momo!!!
for the easy to follow directions on the cards she demoed in her first class on the Ustream Monday night.
This is momo's blog below in case you want to visit her:

I made my first Easel Card yesterday to enter it in Momo's Tuesday Challenges. This week theme ""is to use Black and White, and then you can pick 1 other color of your choice"".
I chose red as my complimentary color.

My first Easel Card
4.25 inch

you can also find videos on you tube to make this card and on many other blogs too, just google "easel card'.

My ghost and my Boo! phrase are from Happy Hauntings. The ghost was cut at 3.75 inch and the phrase and its shadow at one inch. I used foam tape for dimension on the ghost. The bats on the red background are stamped. The nice checker board paper is from Me & My Big Ideas. I digged out the R.I.P. from a K&CO die cuts Halloween bag and I traced the letters with a red glitter marker because they were orange in color. I did not need orange but red. :)
I used a Martha Stewart punch for the tombstones border and add a strip of white AC cs behind it to make stand out better. The half moon is a circle altered into a crescent moon. I also adhered one of my eyes next to the phrase to keep watching you, lmbo.

This easel card is not hard at all to make, actually is really easy.
try it and let me see what you come up with.

Thanks for Visiting!

Love you all.

Tiddly Inks Goodbye to Summer

Where has the time gone? I think I missed August completly and here it is the very last day. At Tiddly Inks we're saying Goodbye to Summer with Autumn inspired projects. I'm not sad, it's my FAVORITE time of year, when the vineyards turn golden and a there's bit of a chill in the air. I've chosen Fairy Fae Dreams. As she sits atop her Fairy House with the autumn leaves swirling about her, what is she dreaming? She and her house are colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped upon yummy paper from K&Co Alleghany Plum. For some sparkle I've added some copper leaf peelies from Stampendous and a copper border. The sentiment is a Melissa Francis rub on.
The falling leaves were a bit of a challenge. They are punched, and originally I tried colored card stock but they just didn't blend with the rest of the card. Finally I punched them in white, outlined them with a Sigma Micron pen and colored them with Copics. Much better. The twine bow added a bit of a rustic touch. Are you ready for Fall? Pop on over to Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog for the fabulous designs by the rest of the Tiddly Inkers and check out the Tiddly Inks Store for all of the new designs. And don't forget there are FREEBIES every Tues when you join the Tiddly Inks PCP group. This week it's the colored version of the Cheshire Cat (good for 48 hours, so hurry)! But BOTH versions are for sale for only a buck! WooHoo! I'm so honored that my little altered version of "What's Up" inspired Christy to add him to the store!
And hey, if you haven't already, please scroll down for the BBTB2 Blog Hop and leave a comment for a chance to win my prize.

As always there needs to be an image cut using your cricut on your project to be eligible for the prizes"".

This is my entry
Going Places
3.25 inches high by 7.5 inches wide
The card base is from Just Because Cards image #10 and used sideways.

The luggage is from Going Places cut at 2 inch. All images have been inked and outlined.

The bicycle is also from Going Places and cut at 2 inches high.

The papers used are from K&CO. Road trip Collection and the sentiment is one of the collection stickers: WEHVFUN, cute, uh?

These two photos to the left are the inside of the card and the border and die cut are The Road Trip stack.

The blue paper was zig zagged by hand (OH MY!) lol  with the old shaped scissors I had in the very back of my closet :) The map in the background is from Going Places too and I had to stretched it out a bit to cover most of the card front.

Well, this is it for now.

Wish me luck in the

BBTB2 Blog Hop - Apron From the From My Kitchen Cartridge

Happy Monday everyone! Didn't August just fly by? It's the last Monday of the month and you know what that means, it's Blog Hop time at BBTB2. Hopefully you've arrived from the fabulously talented Krista's Blog, if not, why not pop on back over so you don't miss a thing. It's obvious that Krista is a chip off the old block, because her wonderfully creative Mom, Penny, chose the challenge this week; the apron cut from From My Kitchen (you'll see her fabulous creation further down the road). I used my DS to make a shaped front card using a variety of cuts from the Kitchen cart. The retro papers are from Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety and DCWV Nana's Nursery.
Here's a picture of it open so you can really see the shaped front. The buttons are a combination of Making Memories Chloe's Closet and Favorite Findings (on the apron) and the gorgeous colored ones on the card base are Stampin'Up (thanks Lillie). (BTW, Lillie has 24/7 ordering now if you click HERE)
Big surprise that there's dimension, eh?, but I WAS surprised that I had the perfect little dimensional sticker from Studio 18 that I found in the $ bin at M's. (It pays to dig!) Now off to hop to see what else is cookin'. Next stop, Julia's super fantastic BLOG, but before you go, please leave a comment for a chance to win a $30 gift certificate from Custom Crops. Thanks so much, Custom Crops! The winner will be announced sometime Saturday morning (hey, come on, it's Sat. LOL).
P.S. Scroll down to see this week's Macabre Monday Challenge "Creepy Cute" sponsored by Tiddly Inks. (Even you non creepsters oughta like that!)

macabre Monday Creepy Cute Challenge Sponsored by Tiddly Inks

Ah yes, it's another Macabre Monday at Haunted Design House with a super fun challenge sponsored by Tiddly Inks (and you know I LOVE me some Tiddly Inks!). The challenge? It's Creepy Cute. Create a dark, Gothic or Halloween page using cute images, but on the darkside. Turn something adorable into something abominable...something delightful into something devious...something cute into something creepy. Or just grab one of TI's Gothic cute images and start coloring. So here is Portence. Her lovely frame suggested a pillow for eternal rest. Her spidery coffin is cut from the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge. I created a shaped card using Cricut Design Studio and I hid LOTS of contours to create the background which I glittered with blood red German glass glitter. (This stuff is made from real glass so it HURTS, trust me!)
Dear Portence has been altered a tad (to look dead) by masking her eyes while printing, her x'd out peepers added by ME! (Sorry Christy, couldn't be helped) She's colored with Copics ( her skin taking a slightly greenish hue around the edges) and she's covered in a black tulle shroud.
She's still quite lovely though, hence the sentiment "Death... becomes her". Or perhaps I should have said "Undeath" Bwahaha! Again I used the Cuttlebug Embossing Plus Fanciful Label with a computer generated sentiment and a single Prima blood red rose. The coffin door is embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder and the viewing window is cut with a Nesties Deckle Rectangle.
Of course there's loads of dimension and the entire card does open at the side. Ready to play along? Of course you are! Rush to Haunted Design House for more of Creepy Cute inspiration by the Macabre Minions and creep up your own cuteness for a chance to win some Tiddly Inks of your very own! (You know you want to!)

WINTER WONDERLAND MPS CHALLENGE

So, I have been working on this card ALL DAY on and off while doing chores.
By the time I finished the light wasn't the best and some pictures are so-so.
I was determined to upload it today so here it comes.

Winter Wonderland
8 inches tall
I used Joys of the Season to make this card. Since this image does not have separate layers I had to cut the house in sections so I wouldn't waste much paper. I moved the house around on the mat on my Gypsy screen and cut what I just needed in the papers I wanted, using my Expression.
I also used Create a Critter for the string of lights and Christmas Cheer for the "Mrs. Snowmen" hehehe. I had these old Peechy Keen stamps and attempted to make her pretty so I gave her a face and red lips, lol.
(I forgot to stickle the whole scarf but I will do it tomorrow, blame it on Lulu who wants to play every time I go in my studio, grrr!).

Here to the left is the bad photo and
remember you can click on all photos for a better view.

The sentiment Winter Wonderland is from
MPS Winter Punnies Clear Stamps set
and you can find where to order
clicking

I used a snowflakes Cuttlebug die as you can see on your left and I stickled them with the diamond one. I also outlined around the images. I started doing the faux  stitches but it just didn't look too good. I like the outlining better. The door knob is yeap, you guessed it....the old brad. LOL. On the tree trunks I used again the brown Puffy fabric marker.

If you noticed the sentiment here is on a rectangle piece of paper and that is nothing but to cover a mistake. I first stamped the sentiment directly on the cardstock and I messed up. I had to cut this piece of cardstock and stamp it again to cover my boo-boo. I added another snowflake and a small star covered with bling and much-much better.

This is the inside of the card with more of the same snowflakes. You noticed a small strip of paper and that is a stand for the card. The house is 8 inches tall and the regular A2 size card on the back needed some support. I was going to weld it all with the Gypsy but again...that Lulu made me forget. :)
The paper used is from the Peppermint stack from DCWV. The black and white are from American Crafts and the plain red one is from a Hobby Lobby stack.

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping to visit.

Bah! Humbug! Charms Challenge and A Blog Award

I was determined to not wait until the last minute this week for Bah!Humbug! so I took a break from my DT stuff to create this little tag. The challenge this week is Charms and after looking through my stash I came upon this little snowflake I'd done with Shrink Plastic. It was cut on my Cricut using the Very Merry Tags cartridge. The tag itself was cut from Plantin Schoolbook on both regular and shadow at 4". The cute little Stampotique stamp is "I'm Cold" by Jill Penney. See, not all Stampotique stamps are creepy. (And can you imagine that Jill is married to Daniel Torrente of the creepy stamps? go figure) The DP's are from S.E.I.'s Wintersong pack including the paper pieced jacket. The rest of her is colored with Copics. The rub on is Melissa Frances.

A little popping, some ribbon and wired stuff that looks to me like snow balls and that's it.

Now before I get on to the blog award, I have to apologize to the 25 or so people who have given me awards since Feb. of this year and I've never posted. I truly do appreciate them, but when they started coming fast and furiously and I started to get behind the whole process got so totally overwhelming, checking back to previous posts to find what award and who they came from, etc. etc. , so I just gave up. So SOOOO sorry my friends. I will try to do better but...

However, I did receive the Cherry on Top award from Lisa, Karen, Oh Snap and Sandra (critterbugg365) and I thank you ladies sooo much. Please visit these lovely ladies by clicking on their names and leave them some love. You know the drill for these awards so I won't go over that, but I do need to post

3 things I love about myself

1. I love that I don't feel or act my age

2. I love that I've found a hobby I truly enjoy and look forward to every day

3. I love that I still believe in Santa Claus, Fairy Tales, Love at First Sight and Happily Ever After (not necessarily in that order)

And the picture I love

Goliath, relaxing on Daddy's lap,

not a care in the world.

Last but not least, I'm supposed to pass this award on to 5 bloggers and you know that's impossible for me to choose but I do want to recognize one sweet and talented friend who is relatively new to the blogging world (since June). I always enjoy her encouraging comments and want the rest of the crafty world to find her blog and appreciate her creativity like I do so

LISA, this one's for you!

She's an Andorran-based photographer capturing the effervescence and beauty of daily life in each image taken. Recently showcased in Lodown's Issue 71, she is also the face of international beauty company Les Ettes, representing their latest collection Want-Ette. We at Champ caught up with Crista in Berlin during Bright Tradeshow, and got the scoop on the latest, this girl is one to watch!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Crista ++
As always- your photos are amazing.
Thanks!!

Firstly, who or what was the first thing you remember photographing?
I think it was a bird at a zoo on a school trip or maybe my cat...either way, an animal, no surprise there.

Your photos reflect a curiosity and old-school nostalgia - does this reflect your personality too?

Haha yeah, totally. I'm really nerdy about history. I think in an ideal world I would love to have lived through the late 60's and seventies, it's such a visually beautiful period as well as being a time of change, people started experimenting with completely new ways of thinking, they were passionate about what they believed in, we tend to be a little anaesthetised now. But I'm just being nostalgic! On another note, I'm definitely interested in those nebulous memories, warped by the passage of time, that create a sort of collective nostalgia. I like the concept of trying to give a face to a word, in my opinion, nostalgia is inextricably linked to beauty because as humans we like to make our lives and our memories more beautiful, no?

What's your camera/s of choice? And do you prefer digital or traditional film?

I generally work with a Hasselblad 500 C/M, my uncle used to use it in the seventies, so it's pretty old school. I've recently purchased a Nikon FE2 from the eighties, I'm insanely happy with it, I think I'm going through a 35mm phase whereas last year I was fascinated with medium format. I love traditional film, I don't personally think that digital captures the same amount of emotion as film does, there's something so much more complete about film. Having said that I do work in digital as well and depending on my mood, I might select it over analogue, it depends on the result I'm looking for.

Following your style of dream-like images, you're moving into darker moods, shooting exclusively in black and white- whats the inspiration and vision for this change?

I had a bit of crisis this summer, it was slightly triggered by the use of the digital camera for a shoot and I felt the images looked too cute and shiny, it didn't feel right. It's important to think seriously about what inspires you and what kind of images you want to create and to not get lost by what is 'expected' or others are doing, I think this happens a lot once the line between work and personal projects becomes fuzzy. I'm inspired by travel, mythology, dreams, femininity, history, and I wanted to get back to that state in which your inspirations become slightly obsessive, so black and white is somehow like starting from zero again, it's stark and strong. It probably has something to do with going into Autumn as well, in Spring some of the photos I was taking were ridiculously over optimistic, now it's time to come back down to earth hhaha.

You work closely with Les Ettes and are currently representing their latest Want-Ette collection. How did this unique partnership come about?
I met Claudia (Les Ettes marketing guru and all round incredibly creative and fun girl) a few years back in the snowboarding scene, and we kept in touch. Over time Claudia and I became good friends and I met the other Les Ettes girls, Carmela and Silvi, and we all just clicked and got on so well. Les Ettes is a lovely family of talented, determined, creative and individual women, they don't even mind me passing out in their booth during tradeshows! So being asked to represent one of their perfumes has been a massive honour and so much fun.
What beats do you listen to while working?
My boyfriend's band (http://resonans.tumblr.com/) beach house, broken bells, bear in heaven, band of horses, fleet foxes, deerhunter, active child um lots of joy division, bauhaus, the smiths, stone roses, edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros, crocodiles, Miami horror etc etc When I'm working I tend to get obsessed with one song and listen to it over and over again, this week's has been two dancers by wild beasts, I think by next week I'll never be able to listen to it again!
Thanks Crista!
xo
