Champ Magazine Recommendations

One of the best things about BRIGHT Tradeshow is the great collection of magazines you are able to collect. Here are some of our favourites:

We stumbled across Aspekt Ratio at their nearby stand at Bright Tradeshow. The quality of content is outstanding and the newspaper format is quite an interesting choice. The content is so good, I almost wish the format was different so it is easier to store in our book stand. Already relating to the content (interview with Tommy Guerrero, plus an article on 'artist couples' !!), we love their 'About' writeup, which makes us relate to the p.b.l.c.t.n even more. ''Somewhere between the format of the LA Times and Die Ziet. That's the Aspekt Ratio of this publication''. Makes us wish we were based in Berlin...

Sneaker Freaker have launched Issue 001 of their German releases...We're always amazed at how far the guys at Snkr Frkr have come..Well done! ....Now to learn German..

Whilst in Berlin, a visit to the Civilist store in Mitte is a must. They stock back issues of Lodown and Monster Children. We spoke to Andreas who runs the store, and whom is also Editor of Aspekt Ratio. Also linked with Lodown, you can see why this store has an amazing book selection. One of our favourite stores worldwide, we are proud to add them to our Stockist List. More on that later.

FixedGearLondon find themselves in a full feature in Streetwear Today. The whole article is superb, with quality interviews and images to match. A must read!
Plus, the newest issue below is out..

Lastest issue of Lodown is looking great (above), along with Issue 002 of Lodown special issues.
In their words, ''DTP (Desktop Publishing -their first issue-featured below with brown cover) was about the method of making the magazine, which had the direct reflection in the finished product, Value (the title of this issue) is an abstract theme and postulate put on the cover...''
There are no interviews, just images - and the large size of the publication allows all the images enough room to shout. It's brilliant, but we do sometimes need a few interviews to feel like the publication properly feeds us..

RVCA's ANP Quarterly is once again out. We love that here lies a mix of Aspekt Ratio and Lodown's image-based special issues. Although in saying that, the content in Aspekt Ratio is much better so I might change the comparison to say perhaps The Sunday Times supplement.

Even though we're not mad on the cover, we are mad for Eric Elms..

032c have some great content. This issue Rei Kawakubo is featured.

On another note, the latest issue of Self Service magazine is available to download for FREE on an Apple Ipad. We've read half so far and love it. Even the moving-image adverts at the beginning are alot of fun!
