Julia deVille  - Private View - Aesop, Shoreditch

Last night saw the launch of Julia deVille's newest collection at the Aesop store on Redchurch St, Shoreditch.
Jewellery-designer and taxidermist, Julia's work combines the two. The fauna she displays are all deceased due to natural causes. Including the stillborn puppy and stillborn deer. She somehow manages to give them a new life. She displays them delicately and beautifully - adorned in intricate jewellery. There is a mix of pink sapphires, diamonds, freshwater pearls, black rhodium plate amongst sterling silver, wood and glass in the various artworks. Something different, but remarkable to see. New Zealand-born, Julia now calls Melbourne home.
