THE POWER OF WOMEN

Hello to ALL
(I am finally back. It has been very busy here at home
with my son's activities and we are not even halfway with his band season.)

I am very happy to introduce my first project for The Cuttlebug Spot. The theme is "The Power of Women" and since is October and it is National Breast Cancer Awareness month we were supposed to make a project having this in mind.
This is my project and I am calling it:
 October Sweet Spells

The photos do not do justice of how pretty this card is.

Since we also celebrate Halloween this month I thought to add some Halloween icons to my project for a reason. If you read the whole description (you do not have too :)) you will see why I decided to name my card, "October Sweet Spells", and why I added the pretty sweet witch.

My base for the card came from Just Because Cards and I used kraft cardstock for it. I then cut the same shape, a bit smaller,  in purple cardstock for the front of the card. I used my cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots to emboss it. I also used my reliable and easy to use Cuttlebug for the job.
The pumpkins are from Paper Dolls for Everyday cartridge . The sizes vary from 3 inches to 2 inches high. I cut the pumpkins 4 different times since this cart does not have a shadow feature. The pumpkins base was cut using cardstock and using the hide contour. I wanted them to be a bit sturdier. The rest were done on patterned paper: green for the leaves, and two different kind of pink papers.
I used the pretty witch from Mini Monsters. I know most of us has wished sometimes to have some kind of power over situations we can not control. If we could make spells I am sure we would find not just the cure for breast cancer but for so many other ailments that affect some of us. This is just my fantasy because we have God with his mighty power for this, but I know I have thought about it at least more than once in my lifetime.

I used PK stamps for the witch's face, a rhinestone on a small paper flower and Glossy Accents on her front button. It is hard for to see but I also gave her sparkly fingernails and sparkly legs with a green glitter marker
Now, how cute is that?
wink-wink.

I also used the same green glitter marker for the pumpkin stems. It gives them such a soft and fine glitter accent. I am loving these glitter markers and they are so easy to use.

Can you see the glossy accent on these punched out bats
So pretty!
These tiny bats are the scraps of a Halloween paper punch. Isn't it a neat idea?
and they added that "bit more" to the card.
This is the inside of the card.

I hope you like my project and
if you did not go yet for your mammo, please do so.

Love you all!!!
and I will have another Cuttlebug project to share with you every Monday from now on until my term with Nilda expires.
Please, come back because she has planned a very nice schedule for us.
Do not forget to visit The Cuttlebug Spot to see the rest of the designers AWESOME projects.
